The ADQuickStart quick start gives you everything you need to use MyVD to integrate Linux with Active Directory using MyVD. This quick start will setup an ApacheDB database, create the tables, integrate Active Directory an optionally setup SSL options. Before running this quick start you need the following information:

Option Description Example
Active Directory domain controller host The host of the AD system
AD Port The port of the AD system By default: 389 for non-ssl, 636 for ssl
AD Domain The domain name
AD Search User DN for user for MyVD to connect to AD. This user must have no search controls placed on it. Do not include the domain name in the dn cn=MyVDUser,cn=Users
AD Search Users Password Password for the MyVD user password
AD User Base The base for all users and groups, minus the domain name Typically “cn=Users”
Use SSL to connect to AD? Determines if SSL will be used for connecting to AD
Use Kerberos for authentication Determines if Kerberos should be used for authentication, useful when there is no AD SSL availability
Create Self Signed Certificate? Determines if a self signed certificate should be created for MyVD If you do not have a certificate authority or want to get up and running quickly

Once completed an LDAP search from the base you configure will pre-populate the database.
